Rocco & Brownie Atterbury now live in San Francisco, California full time with our mommy and daddy. We miss our country estate in Fairfield, our big backyard and the cows on the surrounding hills...but not the rattlesnakes. We've adapted just fine to life in the City. We love our big window overlooking the hustle & bustle & cablecar of California Street.
More About Brownie
Hi. My name is Brownie. I’m a Jack Russell Terrier through and through. I’m very friendly when meeting people for the first time...big or small I like 'em all...as long as we are inside. Everyone says I’m a sweet & lovable lil' girl. Even grandma, who doesn’t really like dogs, let’s me snuggle with her. But get me out on the streets of San Francisco, and watch out. TROUBLE. Mommy says I take after daddy because I can get so focused on something. She thinks we both have ADHD, I just have the doggy kind. I can be rather stingy with my kisses, especially when daddy begs for 'em. And my all-time favorite thing to do is play fetch with a squeaky toy and then gut it, like the evil kitty. We have a collection of my 'work'. However, my prize possession is my designer purse collection. My Chewy Vuittons are my fav, favorites.
More About Rocco
HOLA, BONJOUR, CIAO. I am ROCCO, the lover dog. Breed is not important to me. (Mostly because we don’t really know mine. My father was told I was a long haired Chihuahua when I was a wee pup, but mommy did some research & now they both are convinced that I’m a rather TALL Papillon. Everyone agrees I have the markings AND the intelligence-we are the 8th smartest breed after all.) C’est la vie. I am - who I am. And I am fancy...and at home in San Francisco...just like my momma. I'm more reserved than Brownie when meeting someone new. I need to check you out-I live in a BIG city afterall. Although I am easily bored with fetch, I do enjoy stealing any toy with which Brownie is playing, especially the kitty. My very favorite person in the whole world is my momma. I follow her around…well, like a puppy.
Our Story
Daddy rescued us, actually he bought us, from two different garages in Fairfield on Halloween 2003. We'll never forget meeting each other for the first time. Who would guess that years later we'd be inseparable? We're a really family. He was a good daddy back then, except he would always put us in our crates when he left the house and at night. It was boring, lonely and a little cramped. Then he met mommy & fell in love. At first she insisted we would not be her dogs too. But we quickly melted her heart. Really, how could she resist? Soon she was convincing daddy to leave us out of our cages more and more. At first it was just for short trips to Starbucks, but then it was all day when they went to work. Now we don’t even use the crates unless we go on vacation & stay in a hotel. And the best part, we get to curl up on their bed at night.
Enjoying our Birthday Cake
Our birthdays are four days apart. I’m (Rocco) older; I was born on August 12, 2003 and Brownie was born on August 16 that same year. Birthdays are special occassions in our house. For example, on our second birthday we got dressed up in our favorite sports jerseys and had a party. It was an Elmo theme complete with plates, napkins and hats. We got lots of cool presents and mommy baked us a very yummy birthday cake.
