Psychic Dogs

Mommy and daddy think we are psychic dogs. No. Not PsYCHo. PSYCHIC.
The reason is that we can ‘predict’ when Regis Philbin will be on “Live with Regis & Kelly”.

Now, you’re probably saying: duhhh. "Regis & Kelly”. Of course Regis will be on. But many times, a guest host will sit in for him. For example, I (Brownie) like when that cute Mark Consuelos or super cute Mario Lopez co-host with Kelly.

I (Rocco) just concentrate on Kelly. H-O-T.

Anyway, you’re probably wondering how we predict if Regis will be hosting. If the big man will be on that day, we start chasing each other around the bedrooms about 5-10 minutes before the show comes on. If we don’t run around like wild animals, a guest host will be on that day. Our success rate is right around 91%.

We honestly don’t know why we do it. We just do.

Daddy Wounds Rocco

Mommy has accomplished a lot since moving to the country. In addition to setting up the house, she’s found a new dry cleaner that does daddy’s shirts the way he likes them. She’s discovered a specialty grocery market with incredible cheeses and the freshest fish. She’s taken us to visit a nice new vet…twice. But she hasn’t found a dog groomer close by yet. We don’t like groomers, so that doesn’t bother us at all.

And although daddy & mommy like my (Rocco) hair long, like a Papillon’s should be; they like it long everywhere but my ‘back door’. Unfortunately, I had an ‘issue’ after a potty break earlier today that required more than a couple doggy wipes.

Daddy got the trimmer and called Kate for assistance. Into the torture chamber the three of us went. Kate held my tail up as daddy commenced with the trimming. Mommy refuses to take part in these activities.

I was trying to hold as still as I possibly could, but that buzzing noise is scary. Next thing I know, daddy got a little too close and nicked my pooper. I wailed in pain. Kate let go of my tail. Mommy ran into the room, and daddy cried out: I wounded Rocco!

As if that wasn’t humiliating enough, mommy told daddy he has to apply Neosporin to the injury until it healed.

And then she said, "daddy is not allowed to groom Rocco anymore".

Our Doggy Car Seat

We do not like riding in the car. We’re not sure why, but maybe it’s because every time we’d get in, we’d end up at the vet. And although they are very nice there, we do not like all their poking and prodding. Sometimes we would get car sick and throw up. Other times I (Rocco) would get so nervous my mouth would water like a faucet. Drip, drip, drip. Uncontrollably. It was quite embarrassing.

That was until mommy bought us a car seat! We LOVE our car seat!!! Daddy thought she was a little crazy, but now we sit up high and can look out the window. It is so cool. And we rarely get sick anymore, even on long trips. It’s so much fun to see where we’re going. We even like sitting in it when it’s not in the car. It’s so comfortable and relaxing. It is one of our favorite places to take a nap. And nowadays we don’t really mind getting in the car.

So now when I (Rocco) get nervous in the car, mommy blames it on daddy’s driving.

Valentine's Day

Today is doubly special. First, mommy comes home from her trip to Ohio. Although we talked to her on the phone while she was gone, we missed her so much.

And second it’s Valentine ’s Day. Daddy helped us buy pretty flowers & a pretty necklace for mommy. We can’t wait to give them to her. She gets very excited when she gets presents from us. And then we get lots of extra treats and love from her.

Maybe daddy should buy her presents once in awhile…

Oh, mommy said we shouldn’t forget to mention that it is our Aunt Jackie’s birthday today. So…Happy Birthday Aunt Jackie! Love, Your Niece & Nephew

Rattlesnake Booster Number Two

We're not very happy today.

No one told us that the rattlesnake vaccine was a SERIES of SHOTS. We had to go BACK to that doctor this morning and get the SECOND booster shot! OUCH.

This better be worth it...
When we get home I'm (Brownie) going out back to find one of those little buggers!
I'm (Rocco) going to 'milk it' for a few more treats!
(Brownie:) That's a better idea! You're so smart Rocco.

Our Neighbors are COWS!

We first realized there were cows in our new neighborhood in "the country" (that's what we call Fairfield) in November of last year. We were out in the backyard playing with mommy when we saw these strange creatures on the hill. Naturally we started going nuts! Mommy didn't know what was going on until she heard a couple very loud MOOOOs.

We both lovvvvve to look out the window and bark at our neighbors, "The Cows". Sometimes they’re across the street in front of the house, other times they’re on the hills out back. No matter where they are, we'll find them and let you know they're there. I (Rooco) get bored with them after a couple minutes, but Brownie will take the game to another level. She will howl and growl and whimper mercilessly, for what seems like hours. I tell you she could shatter glass when she starts going. Sometimes mommy calls Aunt Susie on the phone just so she can ‘enjoy’ Brownie’s battle cry too. No one knows what she'd do if she ever got up close to one.

But, I'd (Brownie) love to show 'em! One day daddy thought it would be fun to take me in the car to where the cows were very close to the street. Not only did I go into my ear piercing routine, I also started shaking I was sooo excited. I wanted to get out of the car so badly and run into the pasture and scare those cows away, but daddy was afraid they'd kick me like a football.

If Santa doesn't come this year

You'll know why.
